Announcing auditions for our adult fall show "The Fall of the House of Usher", a play by Gip Hoppe, based on the short story by Edgar Allan Poe. Performances November 17th, 18th, 19th 2023.
You do not need to prepare anything for auditions (though you are more than welcome to!) We will be doing cold readings from the script.

Summary: A comfortable, suburban family man receives a desperate call from a forgotten childhood acquaintance. Thus starts a journey into madness that takes Ed Allen to the House of Usher and its terrible secrets and temptations. This modern adaptation of the classic short story by Edgar Allan Poe transports Gothic horror into the 90s, questioning the definition of sanity in the same way Poe did.
Characters:
Ed Allen - Male, 30s-40s.
Roderick Usher - Male, 30s-40s.
Madeline Usher - Female, late 20s-30s.
Dr. Dumas - Male or Female, 40s-70s.
Manfredo - Mischievous Ghost, age can vary.
Jerome - Ghost of Madeline and Roderick's father. Non-speaking role but onstage frequently.
Constance - Ghost of Madeline and Roderick's mother.
Mr. Allen - Ghost of Ed's father.
Mrs. Allen - Ghost of Ed's mother.
